Arsenal have shown interest in Alex Meret and are keeping a close eye on the situation of Napoli’s first-choice goalkeeper as he enters the final year of his contract.

Football Transfers report that Arsenal have been impress by the goalkeeping skills of Napoli’s first-choice goalkeeper Meret, who is an Italian international, and are ready to approach him next year if he does not sign a new contract with the club.

Federico Pasorello, Meret’s agent, has revealed that talks over a new contract with Napoli will take place in the coming months, although Antonio Conte’s side are racing against time as the Italy international’s contract enters the final year and he can agree on a new deal with another club (abroad) as soon as January 2025.

If Meret decides to reject a new contract with Napoli, then joining Arsenal will face a tough task. With Mikel Arteta’s side currently sitting on first-choice David Raya, who has taken over from Aaron Ramsdale.
